  • 1 medium Onion Finely diced
  • 2 large Garlic Cloves Sliced
  • 1 lb Ground Beef -
  • 1 cup Mushrooms Sliced
  • ⅓ cup Dry White Wine -
  • ½ cup Chicken Stock -
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning -
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream -
  • ⅓ cup Parmesan Grated
  • Handful Fresh Parsley -
  • To taste Salt & Pepper Freshly ground

Ingredients

  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 large garlic cloves sliced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • cup dry white wine
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • A handful of fresh parsley
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cook the Pasta: Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine pasta according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  • Prepare the Ground Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
  • Add Mushrooms and Wine: Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cook for 2-3 minutes until they soften. Add the dry white wine and let it simmer for 2 minutes, allowing the alcohol to cook off.
  • Create the Alfredo Sauce: Pour in the chicken stock and bring the mixture to a simmer. Add the heavy cream and Italian seasoning, stirring to combine. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  • Finish the Sauce: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Continue stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  • Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss everything together until the pasta is well-coated in the creamy sauce.
  • Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and extra Parmesan if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Substitute Pasta: If you prefer a different pasta shape, you can use penne, rigatoni, or rotini. These shapes will also hold the creamy sauce well.
  • Add Veggies: To add some vegetables to this dish, consider tossing in some cooked broccoli or spinach. Ground beef Alfredo with broccoli is a great variation!
  • Storage: Leftover ground beef Alfredo sauce pasta can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently to avoid separating the sauce.
  • Lean Beef Option: If you want to reduce the fat content, use lean ground beef or even ground turkey. It will still work well with the creamy Alfredo sauce.
  • Make it Spicy: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to give the dish a spicy kick.
